Born in 1992, Erikson Ang Arcilla is a self-taught artist living in Quezon City. Having finished a degree in Human Resources Development Management from the University of Santo Tomas, Erikson did not have any formal training or study when it comes to art. It was something he discovered during his college years. What started as a hobby out of curiosity turned into a passion that evolved into an affair that would steal him away from the corporate world. Using his love for the oils to tell his visual stories, he primarily paints conceptual to fantasy-inspired subjects that evoke hope, tranquility and nostalgia in vibrant, surreal landscapes. For Erikson, “Story telling is something I hold very dear. Because we are witnesses to the world around us through the stories we share. Others express their ideals and emotions through film, music, writing or speaking. I express mine through the magic of the brush and canvas.”
